“Garden design and gardening is like performance art; gardens need to be constantly reinterpreted to retain their relevance and vitality, while preserving the original fabric and intention.”
Paul Robbins brings a fresh and distinctive approach and sensibility to defining and creating a garden scene.
With over 30 years of experience and a transatlantic repertoire, Robbins’ landscape design is infused with a wealth of connoisseurship and elegant imagination garnered from his diverse private home, hotel and restaurant projects. His collaborations with architects, interior designers, horticulturalists and other experts have born gardens successfully from Napa Valley, Aspen, New York and Maine through to England’s home counties, the Cotswolds and London.
His portfolio of work in California ranges from private clients including Gary Oldman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jimmy Kimmel and the recent restoration of the Thomas Mann Estate in the Pacific Palisades.
The understated design of ‘outdoor rooms’ plays to Robbins’ particular strengths. Together with his horticultural training, he brings strong spatial design skills and years of know-how with installation work, planting mature trees, re-modeling and designing swimming pools, stone-work and garden lighting.
